Chapter 19. Exploring Cables and Connectivity

Chapter 18, covers the basic hardware used in networks, such as network interface cards, switches, and routers. You connect this hardware together using cables. There are several different types of cables and connectors you can use depending on the characteristics of your network. Just as you can’t put a square peg into a round hole, you can’t put an RJ-45 connector into a fiber port, so it’s important to know the differences, which you’ll learn in this chapter.
