File Locations

When the system boots, it needs to know how to adjust the time to reflect the correct time zone. This time zone information is stored in files that are defined in this section.

/etc/timezone

This is the location of the system time zone on Debian-based systems:

[root@OCS ~]# more /etc/timezone
America/Los_Angeles

This file should be set to values specified in the /usr/share/zoneinfo
