Getting BIND

The latest release of BIND can always be found at ftp://ftp.isc.org/isc/bind/src/. The latest available "current" release is also announced on the Web page.

The src directory holds subdirectories for each recent version of BIND. Each directory in turn contains three .tar.gz files and their corresponding .asc files containing cryptographic PGP signatures. The signatures verify the origin and authenticity of the copy of BIND you get, so you can know that you got an unaltered, trustable version. It also holds a MD5 file with MD5 checksums you can use to verify that you got the files without any problems.

If you want to verify the files you got, you must get hold of the ISC PGP keys, which you can find at http://www.isc.org/ISC/pgpkey.html ...
