Chapter 13 Rubber Outfit
Casting latex is often used to make rubber masks, but it may be used to make costume outfits. It has unique qualities that fabrics cannot compete with. Once the casting latex has set, it becomes very durable, flexible, stretchy, waterproof, dyeable, paintable, and stitchable.
MAKING A CROCODILE COSTUME
I made a crocodile outfit for Peter Pan (Figure 13-1) before moving to Florida. After moving to Florida, I was eager to visit the park where the crocodiles lived even though the crocodile costume had been done. When I saw many crocodiles sleeping on the bank with their mouths open, I appreciated their natural beauty. I was proud to have made the crocodile outfit.
