Part I. Introducing Engineering Strategy

Strategy is a very broad topic, and the first part of this book surveys that breadth while landing the foundation to dive into the details in the four following parts. It will establish the core definitions that we’ll take through this book, and connect this book’s ideas to the tradition they originated in.

It will also address the three most frequent concerns I hear from would-be strategy practitioners. First, is engineering strategy actually useful? (Yes.) Who gets to do it? (You do.) How much strategy is actually useful? (It depends on the altitude you’re writing at.)
