Natural Lighting
V-Ray offers two ways to set up the natural lighting of a scene – the VRaySun and the Dome VRayLight. Lighting in V-Ray simulates real-life conditions. This means that if you set the sunlight high in a scene, you get a strong, cold lighting with sharp shadows, while if you set it low, the lighting is warm with soft shadows. In this chapter, we describe how to use both these two methods, the VRaySun and the Dome VRayLight, as well as the use of the VRayLightMix to quickly navigate from one method to the other and create different lighting scenarios.
