In this chapter and in Chapter 6, “Grand Visions,” we look at the next stage of growth for five of our entrepreneurs. Although they all focus on different areas of real estate, they scale up opportunistically taking advantage of projects where they can add value. In expanding, they all face problems of finding new sources of financing and deciding the size and type of organization that best suits their business and their personal style. They worry about how to control what have become more complex operations with new sets of partners.
