So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

One of the best ways to learn about portrait photography is to look at the work of great portrait photographers. I'd suggest taking a look at the work of Richard Avedon, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Arnold Newman, and Irving Penn. Some specific books I recommend are:
