The development and practice of cybersecurity require regular argumentation and debate. We mean this in the constructive sense of respectful persuasion, not to encourage fighting or heated disagreement. To be effective in cybersecurity, we must avoid flawed reasoning and rhetorical errors. Vendors and other professionals are also continually trying to convince us of their claims, such as that AI,1 blockchain, and cloud computing will solve every problem, or that quantum computers will doom cybersecurity.
