Chapter 11. Warehousing Software

A warehousing team will require several different types of tools during the course of a warehousing project. These software products generally fall into one or more of the categories illustrated in Figure 11-1 and described below.

  • Extraction and transformation. . As part of the data extraction and transformation process, the warehouse team requires tools that can extract, transform, integrate, clean, and load data from source systems into one or more data warehouse databases.
