Appendix D. Using the DB2 Development Center

The DB2 Development Center (DC) shown in Figure D.1 is an easy-to-use, integrated development environment (IDE) for building and debugging DB2 application objects.

With the Development Center, you can:

  • Create, build, and deploy Java and SQL stored procedures

  • Debug SQL stored procedures using the integrated debugger

  • Create, build, and deploy user-defined functions (UDFs)

Tip

A Microsoft .NET Visual Studio add-in is also available for DB2 which allows you to easily develop DB2 applications using a unified development environment.
