I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Wenn es um das Thema Firewall auf einem Betriebssystem geht, hört man immer wieder: »Der Router hat eine Firewall, wozu dann noch eine auf dem Betriebssystem installieren?« Ganz einfach: Gerade billige Router bekommen höchstens einmal in ihrer Laufzeit ein Update und danach interessieren die Hardware-Hersteller keine Sicherheitslücken mehr. Auch ältere Router bekommen sehr häufig keine Updates mehr, werden aber immer weiter genutzt.
Router ohne Updates sind ein beliebtes Ziel für Angreifer aus dem Internet – und hinter dem Router ohne Updates warten dann ungeschützte Betriebssysteme. Daher sollte man auch bei Debian nicht auf eine Firewall verzichten.
