It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In 2019, DAX received a major update with the introduction of calculation groups. Calculation groups are a utility feature inspired from a similar feature available in MDX, known as calculated members. If you already know what calculated members in MDX are, then learning calculation groups should be somewhat easier. However, the DAX implementation differs from the MDX implementation.
