Ein riesiges Observatorium aus Stein

Im Jahr 1728 gab der Maharadscha Sawai Jai Singh II den Bau eines Observatoriums als Teil der neu gegründeten Stadt Jaipur in Auftrag. Das Jantar Mantar-Observatorium (Abbildung 24.1) wurde 1901 renoviert und ist heute eine beliebte Touristenattraktion abseits des Lärms und der Hitze der Stadt Jaipur.
