While working on the graphic artist community site I discussed in Chapter 1, one of the challenges was to come up with a user profile system that was more meaningful than a simple page of facts about a site member.

What I did was nothing revolutionary, or even new, but it serves as a good example of how the type of application being created can affect the types of information members need about other users.
