Chapter 6. VMware vSphere Management with Puppet
Puppet can be used to manage resources in the VMware vCloud Suite. Puppet Enterprise has a cloud provisioner component that can deploy new virtual machines (VMs) on VMware vSphere. In addition, the VMware vCloud Air Team has open-sourced a few of the modules that they use internally for managing vSphere components. For the examples in this chapter, we will need to have at least one Linux VM template created in our vSphere deployment, and we will need a Puppet Enterprise master server that has network connectivity to a vSphere cluster that is attached to a vCenter server instance.
