Chapter 19. VMware vRealize Automation in DevOps Environments

At this point in the book, there has been much conversation about the definition of DevOps. VMware’s vision on this topic is that there is no objectively “true” definition, but instead we advocate conceiving of DevOps as a journey toward a state of cooperation and collaboration between the development and operations teams. Although there is no specific “tool” that defines it, a core component of DevOps, and also that of a true software-defined data center, is an extensible platform that augments the functionality of existing toolsets.
