Chapter 3. THE COMPETING VALUES FRAMEWORK

The Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI)is based on the Competing Values Framework, a theoretical model that is now the dominant framework in the world for assessing organizational culture.[2] This framework is extremely useful in organizing and interpreting a wide variety of organizational phenomena. In this chapter, we explain why having a framework is so important and how this framework was initially developed through research on organizational effectiveness.
