Abstract
Additive manufacturing (AM) plays an important role in promoting digital transformation. While certain manufacturing enterprises have used AM to create customized, low-volume, or specialized components (such as those used in the automotive and aerospace sector), there is still uncertainty about the appropriate business models needed to fully integrate AM into their overall digital business strategies. This chapter explores different business models for AM consultancy services and outlines their key criteria. It also investigates the potential for consulting businesses across various industries, presenting pertinent examples of recent initiatives in the market. Subsequently, the existing challenges in AM and its consulting sector were analyzed.
