Proper exposure is critical to shooting excellent nature images. The correctly exposed digital image avoids overexposed bright areas, has few noise problems in the shadows, and the pixels capture enough light so the colors are accurate. The cameras light meter working together with the lens aperture and the shutter determine the final exposure.
