This is a subject that has preoccupied artists for centuries and is essentially a vehicle for studying the human condition, and as such forms a necessary part of this book. As opposed to focusing on the subjective aspects of painting people, this chapter chooses rather to deal with the technical issues related to painting human characteristics.
