Part IV. Fine-Tuning Your Output

You aren't done yet! Pressing the shutter simply takes the photo. Then, you might want to make the photo better by using the creative tools available with image-editing software. This part shows you some of the things that you can do with your image, including the joys of distributing them as hard-copy prints.

Chapter 11 helps you do basic retouching — salvaging murky photos, correcting unacceptable colors, and removing annoying spots — with the image editor of your choice. Chapter 12 shows you simple techniques for combining one or more photos, removing backgrounds, and getting creative with selective modifications. Chapter 13 proves that making good hard copies doesn't have to be hard.
