Clive Gordon has an unusual background for a documentarist. He started his working life as an academic. In his thirties he went to work as a researcher for Yorkshire Television on First Tuesday, its monthly documentary slot for the ITV network. Clive made his first film as a director in 1992. He moved to Berlin in that same period and has been there ever since. In my view the cultural, historical and creative drive of that city informs every film he has made since.
