Honest, open, productive communication is a key ingredient to creating and maintaining any relationship you want to thrive, be it businesses or personal. That two‐way dialogue between parties, whether it's a husband and wife, a family or a friend group, a manager and employee, or a company and its customer base, is crucial to maintain equilibrium, establish expectations, and pivot appropriately when problems arise.

In 1982, seven Chicago‐area residents died after taking potassium cyanide–laced capsules of Extra‐Strength Tylenol. The pills had been tampered with after production, and the tainted product was placed back on grocery and drug store shelves, where they were purchased and ingested by the victims. As horrific as this sounds, the worst part is that the crime is still unsolved, and no one has ever been charged with these murders.
