“How would your morale be if I fired all of you right now?” Stan yelled, his hands in fists, his face ablaze. The room went dead silent. Everyone stared at him.
“Morale is now a luxury we can’t afford!” he shouted. “So let me invite you to shut up and go back to work before more people get fired.”
Stunned, the staff silently stood up and filed out of the conference room. In the hallway on the way back to their cubicles, they shook their heads and exchanged glances that said, “Can you believe that?”
