Chapter 3. Sync Your DROID With Your Google Account
In order to use a DROID, you must have a Google Account. You can still check your work email and use other accounts, but you must have at least one Google Account. When you activate a new DROID, setting up a Google Account is the second thing you'll do, right after activating the phone number itself with Verizon Wireless.
Your Google Account serves as your default contact list, email, and calendar on your DROID. You will be able to view, manage and update your Google Contacts and Calendar using the Contacts and Calendar apps on your DROID.
