Blog capability is one of the most frequently requested Web site options these days, allowing the administrator or other users to post articles easily and providing a logical chronological organization scheme. The Blog module enables you to add one or more blogs to your Web site. The module supports both single-user and multi-user blogs and provides a block of the most recent blog posts.

In this chapter, I introduce the Blog module, the Blog content type, and the options that are available for managing blog content.

Introducing the Blog Module

Drupal's Blog module supports the creation of one or more blogs. The module enables a dedicated content type called Blog entry. The administrator creates a new blog by creating a new content item of the appropriate type. The various blog entries are managed with Drupal's standard content item management tools. If more than one user is allowed to create blogs, the system groups the blog entries by author.

Figure 16.1 shows an example of the Blog module being used to display blogs from multiple users on the front page of the site.
