Goals

The goals of an organization must be in alignment with its vision and mission statements, but the purpose of developing specific goals is to define the direction of the organization in more practical terms. Goals are established to be slightly out of reach but should be easily recognized by supervisory personnel and used for guidance in everyday operations. These goals would be positioned between the direction established by the chief and senior executive officers and that established by the managerial level. A good example of goals being in consonance with the vision and mission statements of the organization is The Coca-Cola Company press announcement of November 2009,1 which stated,
