In the last two chapters, we have learned about the fundamental units of electricity—charge, current, voltage, and resistance. In this chapter, we are going to put this information to use in a real circuit.

5.1 Circuit Requirements

For a circuit to function properly, you usually need several things:

1.

A source of power which provides electricity for your circuit (this is usually a combination of both a source and destination for the electricity)
2.

A network of wires and components that ultimately lead from the source to the destination
3.

Some amount of resistance in your circuit ...
