Abstract
In Chapter 5, we have seen the nonlinear programming, while this chapter will deal with the linear programs, namely those optimization problems where both the objective function and the constraints are modeled in a linear form. After a short introduction to the theory of the linear programming, the goal of Chapter 7 is mainly to show how a linear program can be implemented in Excel, within practical business cases specifically related to the production scheduling, which is one of the most important fields where the linear programming techniques are applied in real problems.
