CHAPTER 3 Network Devices

Network devices are the components of a set of interconnected computer systems that understand the network layout and can efficiently route traffic to its intended destination. They generally connect to each of the computer systems in the network via the types of physical media covered in Chapter 2 and provide security features in addition to the features centered on establishing and maintaining efficient connectivity.
