Since this is a hands-on book, you are encouraged to set up the environment and play with the projects while you read this book. Appendix A explains how to set up the development environment and check out the source code for this book.
If you have a computer with Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU, you will be able to compile all example code in this book. However, the hardware requirements for practicing with the code in Parts I and II in this book are quite different from requirements for Part III. There are not many hardware requirements for implementing the bare metal programming examples in Parts I and II.
