A schematic of a PEF generation unit is shown in Figure 7.1. When the switch is thrown to position A, current flows into the capacitor. The electric field within the dielectric is displaced, and the bound electric charges are polarized from their normal position of equilibrium. Then, as the switch is thrown to position B, current flows out of the capacitor.
