The Empowered Manager

In Figure 4.2, I presented the TLS Continuum Empowerment Model in the form of a pyramid. The base of the pyramid was empowered management. While in my mind it is not the most important segment of the pyramid, it does provide support and structure for the remaining segments. If you remember, both our formulas for empowerment and for continuous process improvement included a necessary ingredient—management style.
