Our discussion in this chapter will be brief for two reasons. One, message-oriented middleware (MOM) and RPC-based middleware tend to be traditional, point-to-point middleware. As such, they are not effective solutions for most EAI projects. Two, there is not a great deal we can add to the material that has already been published. Our discussion will therefore center on the application of this technology to the new EAI space and to the evolution of this technology in support of EAI.
