When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
In the Beginning…
It's easier to start out right then to try to retool later. While this is true for most things, it is certainly true for managing the configurations of systems. The more configuration control that has been placed over the system from the beginning, the better the results will be moving forward. Everything from color standardization on cables and labels, the placement of the equipment in the data center, system naming conventions, system installation, and patch maintenance is important.
Correct placement of the equipment in the data center is important, so that the systems do not need to be moved later. If possible, think about the future growth that will be required. Because human interactions with equipment can cause issues ...
