It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Examine your application for vertical slices of functionality. Which are good candidates to be separated out as services? Why?
For each candidate service identified, what database tables drive the functionality?
For each table, what are the foreign keys in and out of the service? How might you deal with foreign keys in isolated databases?
