Small and Medium Enterprises in Oman and GCC

Abstract

This chapter debates initially the current trends of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Gulf Cooperation Council, continuing with SMEs in Sultanate of Oman and their contribution to Oman economy. Furthermore, it describes the challenges faced by SMEs in Sultanate and how these can be overcome. In the end, it presents a case study of Mrs. Etab al Zadjali, an Omani women entrepreneur and her challenges on the pathway toward success.
