Every living thing needs a fuel source to grow and function from day to day. Like other animals, people get their fuel by consuming food sources. The more people who live on Earth, the more the Earth’s resources get stretched to provide enough food for them.
In this chapter, I describe the environmental issues related to food production, specifically farming. I explain what people need to do to maintain an environment healthy enough to produce food now and into the future, and I describe methods of food production that have degraded the environment, along with some methods that can help repair the damage.
