This volume brings together essays and articles in the general field of monetary economics prepared for a variety of purposes over the past four years. The main reasons for collecting them in this fashion are that they appear to have been found useful for teaching purposes—as reflected in requests for offprints—and that they have been published in widely scattered and often obscure journals and conference volumes.
