How Will You Collect Data?
Consider the various methods for collecting data and how you can implement them. The following sections describe some common methods. More methods of collecting data are discussed in chapters 3–6, where they are suggested for gathering data for a particular level of evaluation.
Survey Questionnaires
Survey questionnaires offer a relatively economical way to gather data from a statistically significant number of people. Use survey questionnaires to gather broad baseline data. They are especially good for gauging opinions and gathering demographic data, provided participation is broad and balanced. If completion rates are low, survey questionnaires may not accurately represent the group surveyed.
