Managing Microsoft 365 Roles

A role is a set of privileges that a Microsoft 365 user assigned the role can perform. Rather than assigning permissions to individual users on a per-permission basis, you assign the role to a user instead. You can also create custom roles if a role does not meet your organization’s exact requirements. In this chapter, you will learn about managing roles in Microsoft 365 and other important topics related to assigning administrative permissions in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID.
