DMAX

Synopsis

Use DMAX to find the largest number in a column of a database table that matches the conditions specified by the Criteria argument.

To Calculate

=DMAX(Database, Field, Criteria)

All three arguments are required for this function.

Example

Figure 17-2 illustrates how to DMAX and DMIN to find the highest and lowest sales amounts for the salesperson with an ID of 145. DSUM provides the total years’ sales for the salesperson. The example also shows how DPRODUCT is used to multiply the number of demos given by the same salesperson.
