Chris Beck has a degree in computer science from Rutgers University and has been working with multiple DBMS's for more than 20 years. He has spent the last 16 years as an Oracle employee where he is currently a Master Principal Technologist focusing on core database technologies. He is a co-inventor of two US Patents on software methodologies that were the basis for what is now known as Oracle Application Express.
