So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

So far in this book, I have offered tools to help you to become more productive in the traditional sense of the word—getting more done each hour that you work. This part broadens the concept of productivity to discuss how to formulate and pursue your long-term goals over your entire career.
In chapter 12, I will outline what I believe is the most productive approach to career planning. Under this approach, you should consider your career as an ongoing process over many years with multiple steps, each yielding better information for taking the next step.
