About FileMaker Scripting
Scripts are the lifeblood of an interactive FileMaker solution: They are the means by which you can automate various processes and capture user actions. In this section we try to distill FileMaker scripting down to its essentials. Scripts in FileMaker Pro are written in a point-and-click interface where steps and their options are added to individual scripts. Most scripts are executed by the press of a button or a menu selection. When users run scripts in FileMaker, only one script can execute at a time; however, it is possible to nest scripts, running a script as a sub-script of another.
