Appendix BEditing Native Formats

These tables list the native editing formats for Final Cut Pro. Native format editing does not require transcoding to another format. Final Cut Pro, macOS, and the Mac hardware have more than enough power to push today’s formats. Whether you are using the MacBook Pro or the iMac Pro, the combination of pro hardware, macOS, and professional applications is ready to tackle UltraHD, 6K, and any future formats, all natively.

Native Video Formats

This table lists most of the SD, HD, and 1K+ formats. Some supported wrappers include .mov, .mts, .m2ts, .mxf, and .mp4 in addition to the native wrappers of the formats listed.
