So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

It is important to post sentries near things you wish to protect, and an intrusion detection system (IDS) helps perform this function. As commercial products, these security tools have been promoted as the ultimate solution to network intrusions, and many IT managers have proclaimed that their network was secure because they had installed the latest firewall and IDS.
