I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
12. Trends and the Yuan
Forex typically makes any so-called "trend spotter" appear foolish. While I was writing and editing this chapter, Southeast Asia changed forever. An undersea earthquake caused giant waves to slam into coastlines throughout the region. In just a few horrifying minutes, hundreds of thousands of people were killed. Outside of the human cost, governments and economies were forced to adjust in a matter of days. This is a perfect example of chaos theory and the interconnectivity of today's global markets. No analyst, of course, predicted this "X factor" or Black Swan in his daily reports. But it has dominated the market psyche, and it has forever altered the region.
