23.6.1 FORMAL RECONFIGURATION OF THE CONTROLLER
The following approach is adequate for the on-line computation of a controller output wc(kf + 1) adapted to a given fault. Should the effect of the fault go beyond the step kf + 1, then another reconfiguration step will be executed for the same fault. For example, in a faulty level control process, this would result in a stepwise replacement of a broken valve V1 by another valve V2. This reconfiguration will take place until the resulting control law uses the new valve V2 only. The on-line reconfiguration scheme proposed in this chapter is depicted on Figure 23.10.
